- Intellectual Property (IP): a creative idea or invention that is intellectually sourced from the mind
- Ex: literary + generally artistic works, designs, symbols, names, images, etc.
- The individual who came up with the idea has rights to it
- Concerns rise with ownership because of more and more things being digitized

- There is widespread access to said creations, meaning that they can easily be saved and accessed and distributed very quickly
